Study Overview

This research introduces novel approaches to mathematically measure sunflower head inclination angle, a crucial trait influencing crop performance. The study was conducted over the 2022 and 2023 growing seasons, utilizing an aluminum rod equipped with a ruler and a digital protractor for precise measurements.

The data and models provided here support the development of a trigonometry-based approach and a linear model for calculating head inclination angles. These methods offer improved precision over existing estimation techniques and have potential applications in high-throughput phenotyping.
