Xanthomonas theicola is a microbial plant pathogen that causes bacterial canker on tea plants (Camellia sinensis [L.] Kuntze). The type strain is TC1, which is synonymous with strains ATCC 700184, CFBP 4691, DSM 18797, ICMP 6774, and LMG 8684. An Illumina-based draft genome sequence of X. theicola was previously provided, but here, we report the complete genome sequence for X. theicola strain CFBP 4691 which will allow researchers to better understand the biology of bacterial canker of tea plants.
