The objective of this study was to determine the impact of season and geography on antibiotic resistance and the microbiome in Oregon wastewater. Samples were collected in summer and winter from 17 wastewater treatment utilities in Oregon from wastewater influent, secondary effluent (post-biological treatment), final effluent, and biosolids. The microbiome was determined from 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, and antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes were determined using LC-MS/MS and qPCR, respectively.
