Prairie voles are a model organism for social affiliation behavior and neuroendocrine signaling and this study compares of the microbiome of Microtus ochrogaster (prairie vole) before and after treatment with live probiotic bacterium L. reuteri MM4 1A. Control animals were treated with heat-killed L. reuteri.
