The purpose of this study was to determine how the grapevine leaf transcriptome changes in response to low temperature stresses. Specifically, leaves were exposed to low (4C) and freezing (-3C) temperatures and their RNA collected for differential expression analysis. The goal was to help identify critical gene families and pathways responsible for cold stress response. The importance of this work is to appropriately describe freeze stress and chill stress in grapevine and determine if the transcriptional landscape of each stress is comparable.
