Sequencing and assembly of cowpea elite breeding line IT97K-499-35. Cowpea is a major source of protein in sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere. The goal was to enhance resources including high-resolution genetic maps and knowledge of genetic diversity to support marker-assisted breeding and germplasm management.
