Type-IV trichome formation in ILs from Solanum galapagense

dataset
posted on 2024-06-11, 06:45 authored by West Virginia University
This project analyses an introgression line (BC6Fn) Solanum galapagense (LA1401) introgressed into S. lycopersicum cv. Micro-Tom (recurrent parent) and selected for high-density of type-IV trichomes on the leaves of adult plants to identify chromosomal regions associated with this trait. The IL (MT-Get) was crossed with MT and ~400 F2 plants were phenotyped for high-density of type-IV trichomes. Two distinctive populations were separated for contrasting through mapping by sequencing: S1 (Get-like, with a high density of type-IV trichomes) and S4 (MT-like, with no type-IV trichomes on leaves of adult plants).
