To understand how Tuta absoluta has been so successful and to improve containment strategies, high quality genomic resources and an understanding of population history is critical. This study aims to use long-read sequencing to produce a high quality, annotated reference genome of Tuta absoluta that will be used for population genomics studies. It also uses short-read whole-genome sequencing of Tuta absoluta individuals collected across Latin America in order to identify population structure and history as well as signals of genomic selection.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA909831 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
