Parasitic roundworms (nematodes) of the genus Trichinella are the causative agent of trichinellosis in humans. The genus of Trichinella is characterized by at least 13 species and genotypes. Here, we present the first long-read assembly of T. nelsoni, which consists of 633 contigs comprising a 61.62 Mb genome with 96% completeness assessment and encompassing 13,307 protein-coding genes. We believe this current genome assembly of T. nelson will help researchers to exploited as a reference genome to identify markers for detection and outbreak investigation.
