This data publication contains raster digital files of modeled potential distributions for 120 tree species in northern North America under climate during 1900-1990, 20,000 years ago (ka), 10 ka, 6 ka, and six end-of-century (2071-2100) climate projections under two emission scenarios. Mean accuracies of withheld samples for models, based on climate of 1900 to 1990 and modeled with random forests, were 0.97, with an average of 6.2 variables per model. Annual temperature and temperature of the warmest quarter generally were the most important variables. The purpose of this project was to provide tree distributions under different climates in North America. For more information about these data and this project, see Hanberry (in review).
