In order to further elucidate the mechanisms of the disease resistance triggered by NAD+ in squash, the RNA-sequencing study was conducted. Treatment with NAD+ began after two true leaves have fully developed (as 0 h). NAD+ at 1 mM was infiltrated into the leaves of the plants. Leaf samples were collected at 0, 4, 24, 48 h for squash. Inoculation with powdery mildew was conducted 24 h after the NAD+ treatment.
