Tortispora caseinolytica NRRL Y-17796 Genome sequencing and assembly

How have extracellular proteases evolved among yeasts? In addition to having active proteases Candida caseinolytica is one of the earliest diverging members of the Saccharomycotina. This taxon that is so near the base of the group it is essential to an understanding of occurrence of evolution of proteases within the subphylum.
