The 16.04 Mb draft genome sequence of the sphingolipid-producing strain W. ciferrii NRRL Y-1031 was generated by 454 technology. The GS de novo Assembler Version 2.6 was used to generate 673 contigs and 150 scaffolds. Assembled contigs were automatically annotated and protein-coding genes were manually curated using the yeast genome annotation platform RAPYD.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA169887 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
