Terrestrial Condition Assessment (TCA) Alaska Road Density (Image Service)

<div><div><div><p><a href="https://data.fs.usda.gov/geodata/rastergateway/TCA/Alaska/03_RoadDensity/TCA_AK_Road_Density.zip">Direct Download (Raster Data Gateway)</a></p><p>Objective: Identify locations where roads are present at a density that impacts the quality of wildlife habitat and fragments the landscape.</p><p>Data: A national roads vector dataset has been acquired from the USGS National Transportation Dataset. The data were reattributed to represent three classes: (1) Unimproved, (2) Paved, (3) Light Duty roads. The new classes correspond to the following classes from the National Transportation Dataset: </p><ol><li><p>Unimproved: Four-wheel drive roads. </p></li><li><p>Paved: Controlled access highway, Secondary Highway or Major Connecting Road, Ramps </p></li><li><p>Light Duty: Local Connecting Roads, Local Roads </p></li></ol><p>Data Format: Polylines were converted to a raster for each TCA assessment year. The value at a pixel corresponds to the class of road at that location.
