Swine were administered G-CSF prior to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium challenge to test whether an increase in circulating neutrophil populations could mitigate Salmonella shedding in feces. Fecal samples were taken immediately prior to and up to seven days following Salmonella challenge. The microbiota was assessed via the V1-V3 region of the 16s rRNA gene.
