This data publication includes the results of surveys taken by 119 members of the Wilderness community at the 2019 National Wilderness Workshop (NWW). The survey was designed to capture opinion on shared stewardship, and included questions concerning its effectiveness, innovative ideas to facilitate its implementation, and primary concerns moving forward. The purpose of this research was to understand how the conversation around wilderness shared stewardship has evolved over time, and to initiate a productive discussion around salient issues to facilitate empathy among those in the Wilderness community. We expect that such empathy can lead to stronger shared stewardship partnerships over time. For more information about these data, see Armatas et al. (2021).
