Streptomyces ficellus NRRL8067 is a Gram-positive bacterium with potential to produce several antibacterial agents such as ficellomycin, which exhibits high activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Penicillium oxalicum. Here we present the complete genome sequence of Streptomyces ficellus NRRL8067, which consists of 7,078,240 bp with a linear chromosome, 6312 protein-coding genes, 18 rRNA operons and 64 tRNAs. The availability of genomic information provides valuable insight for devising rational metabolic engineering strategies for the production and isolation of diverse bioactive antibiotic.
