Spiroplasma citri is a bacterium that causes stubborn disease of citrus and is transmitted by leafhoppers in a circulative and persistent manner. Due to limited sequence data on S. citri, the bacterium was isolated from Chinese cabbage. DNA from S. citri CC-2 was extracted from a pure culture in LD8 and subjected to PacBio sequencing. The genome developed herein extends the sequence database of S. citri and is the first whole genome sequence record of S. citri from California.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA558054 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
