posted on 2024-06-11, 07:04 authored by University of Idaho, Sheep Pangenome
The sheep pangenome project aims to produce high quality genome assemblies of a diverse breed of sheep, characterize the genomic regions which influence the observed phenotypic variation using comparative genomics, with a goal to identifying the genomic determinants of economically important traits. The results of this project will directly benefit farmers with superior breeds for improved meet and/or wool production.
