Plant seeds are home to diverse microbes. We investigated the barley seed endophytic microbial communities of recommended barley genotypes grown in different locations and associated them with malt quality traits. We uncovered interesting insights that enhanced our understanding of barley seed microbial diversity and its concomitant effects on malting quality and crop health.
