The Willamette Valley is known for its production of cover crop seed crops, including Persian clover (Trifolium resupinatum L.). Growth of this crop is improved through a symbiotic relationship with Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. trifolii. In this work, we isolated and sequenced a strain of R. leguminosarum bv. trifolii from Persian clover adapted for growth in the Willamette Valley.
