The goals of this study were to (1) develop and evaluate a transcriptome reference for Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and (2) identify potential single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the coastal and interior varieties. Douglas-fir is one of the most economically and ecologically important tree species in the world, and has one of the largest tree breeding programs. Ultimately, these genomic resources are expected to be used for enhancing Douglas-fir breeding, understanding landscape patterns of genetic variation, and helping to understand potential responses to climate change.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA163535 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
