Paenibacillus polymyxa strain:DSM 365 Genome sequencing and assembly

dataset

Paenibacillus polymyxa DSM 365 is a facultative anaerobic, Gram positive, soil bacterium. It is of commercial importance due to its ability to produce value added chemicals such as 2,3-butanediol and acetoin. It also establishes growth-promoting symbiotic relationships with plants and produces antibiotics. The whole genome sequence of this bacterium will provide vital insights into the mechanisms underlying the production of commercially important value-added chemicals, antibiotics production by Paenibacillus species, and their ability to enhance plant growth.
