This project involves the genomic, phenotypic, and phylogenetic characterization of five novel Leptospira species isolated from water sources in the Midwestern United States. Analyzing these isolates progresses our knowledge of the distribution and characterization of pathogenic and saprophytic Leptospira found in the environment.
