This study identified a broad range of novel single stranded DNA (ssDNA) virus-like sequences encoding circular replication-associated proteins (CRESS DNA viruses) in chicken tracheal swabs by next generation sequencing (NGS). This expands our current knowledge in virology, and highlights the importance of further studies in order to determine the role of these viruses in chicken health.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers.
