Neodiprion lecontei is a hypermetamorphic and sexually dimorphic insect that feeds on various pines in North America. This project includes mRNA-seq data from head and body tissues from distinct male larval stages as well as antennae, mouth, head (minus antennae and mouth), leg, thorax, and genital reads of adult males and females. Study goals include transcriptome-wide comparisons between stages, tissues, and sexes. Data users are expected to allow the data producers to publish the first paper with global analyses of the data.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA668791 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
