Leaf spot diseases caused by Cercospora arachidicola (CA) and Cercosporidium personatum (CP) result in economic losses of ~$45 million per year. There are no markers associated with resistance to these diseases. Without knowledge of the genomic information of CA and CP, the stability of the resistance developed could be at risk.
