Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) has been identified in some human patients with Crohn's disease. In order to identify genetic differences between MAP isolates recovered from humans and those associated with bovine Johne’s disease, we characterized the complete genome sequence of strain MAP4 recovered from the breast milk of a Crohn’s disease patient.
