The goal of this project is to sequence and assemble the genome of Musca autumnalis, commonly known as the face fly. M. autumnalis is a significant pest that affects livestock, primarily cattle, and is known for transmitting pathogens such as Moraxella bovis, the causative agent of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK or pinkeye).
