The tarnished plant bug (TPB), Lygus lineolaris, has a wide range of distribution in South and North America and is adapted to a wide range of climatic conditions. TPB is reported to feed on over 500 host plant species across the range of distribution and more than 300 host plants support reproduction. Lygus lineolaris is the most important pest of cotton in the mid-South region of USA.
