Lygus hesperus is a pest of cotton, alfalfa, fruit and vegetable crops, and potentially of several emerging biofuel and natural product feedstocks in the western US. However, little is known about the underlying molecular genetics, biochemistry, or physiology of L. hesperus. Accessory glands from virgin Lygus hesperus males or males 24-hr post-mating were dissected and pooled accordingly. Duplicate libraries were made for each sex and sequenced in a single Illumina HiSeq lane.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA210220 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
