Long-term effects of biochar feedstock on Virginia pastureland soil

16S rRNA sequence data from soil samples collected in a long-term biochar feedstock experiment. We used a complete randomized block design with five blocks to test two treatments: soil amended with three types of biochar produced with different feedstock (hardwood, softwood, hay) and a bloodmeal addition. Each block had one combination of each biochar with or without bloodmeal, and a controls that had no biochar with and without bloodmeal (n=40). Plots were 2x2m and amended in October 2019 and samples were collected in March 2024.
