ABC transporter proteins belong to a superfamily of transmembrane proteins found in all forms of life. ABC transporters are associated with resistance to various Bt toxins in lepidopterans and coleopteran insect species. In this study, we conducted targeted sequencing of ABCA2 cDNA from Pectinophora gossypiella to compare the sequence reads between homozygous susceptible (APHIS), homozygous resistant (Bt4-R2) and heterozygous individuals to understand the genetic linkage with Cry2Ab resistance.
