This project was designed to isolate Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains in a screen for improved tolerance to pretreated lignocellulosic biomass inhibitors. These inhibitors are problematic in the efficiency and ultimately cost-effectiveness of using lignocellulosic biomass as a feedstock for the production of fuels and chemicals. Whole genome sequencing of two strains isolated in this screen was undertaken in an effort to potentially understand what genes and/or structural rearrangements could potentially lead to the improved tolerance observed.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA453781 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
