Leptospira borgpetersenii serovar Hardjo is the most common cause of leptospiral infection in cattle throughout the world. Strain 203 has been utilized extensively in the development and study of bovine models of infection and vaccine efficacy. Sequence data will allow further study of the organism in the host and in the laboratory.
