The western honey bee Apis mellifera forages for nectar and pollen on multiple plant species varying temporally and geographically. In the process, they consume a variety of plant secondary metabolites. The fact that phytochemical mixtures in honey collectively induce detoxification genes and pathways may be a critical component of bee survival and resilience in environments contaminated with synthetic insecticides.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA857094 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
