Conjugation efficiency of Salmonella Genomic Island 4 (SGI-4) from donor Salmonella enterica serovar I 4,[5],12:i:- or a plasmid containing oriTSGI-4 to recipient strain Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium. The oriTSGI-4 nucleotide sequences are located in the region that spans nucleotides 4704600-4706000 of the Salmonella enterica serovar I 4,[5],12:i:- strain USDA15WA-1 genome (CP040686). Conjugation efficiency was calculated by dividing the colony forming units (CFU)/mL of transconjugants by the CFU/mL of donors. A transconjugant is a bacterial recipient that received DNA from the donor strain due to horizontal gene transfer.
