Honeycrisp fruit sun damage transcriptome

dataset

Sunburn in Washington state results in up to 10% apple crop loss. Understanding the physiological and molecular mechanisms underlying sunburn will aid improvement of mitigation strategies and breeding for more resilient varieties. Here we applied heat stress to apples in the field during the early part of the season, and collected tissue along a time course, 24, 48, and 72 hours following the heat stimulus, to investigate dynamic gene expression changes using a transcriptomic lens.
