RNA Seq reads from three Aspergillus flavus (AF70) strains: 1) a knockout mutant containing a deletion in the hbx1 (homeobox 1) gene, 2) an isogenic positive control strain, and 3) a strain that genetically complements the hbx knockout strain by reintroduction of the wildtype hbx gene. Disruption of hbx1 in Aspergillus flavus results in aconidial colonies and lack of sclerotial production. In addition, the hbx1 mutant is unable to produce aflatoxins B₁ and B₂, cyclopiazonic acid and aflatrem.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA494425 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
