Assembly of primary and alternative genomes from a single, non-inbred, individual from USDA-ARS-GRIN PI540631. PI540631 contains Beta vulgaris ssp. maritima (sea beet) germplasm originally sampled from a stone wall in St. Catherine's Bay on the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel in 1989. The initial population sample was 12 individuals. The sequenced individual represents a recombination of the original sample due to regeneration of the accession.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA1115221 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
