As an initial step to explore the transcriptome genetic diversity and to discover single nucleotide polymorphic (SNP)-biomarkers for marker assisted breeding within Pima (Gossypium barbadense L.) cotton, leaves from 25 day plants of three diverse genotypes were used to develop cDNA libraries. Annotated contigs or transcripts revealed genes of major metabolic pathways that might explain the gene pool diversity of these Pima genotypes.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA290525 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
