We had previously used the bacterium Gordonia terrae 3612 (acquired from ATCC #25594) as a host for phage isolation. We were interested in trying the "identical" strain from NRRL (B-16283) but upon receipt it had clear phenotypic differences from the ATCC strain. We had previously sequenced the ATCC strain, and so decided to sequence the NRRL strain to compare.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA472951 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
