A teosinte haplotype, Teosinte crossing barrier1-s (Tcb1-s), confers unilateral cross-incompatibility with maize, preventing fertilization of Tcb1-s plants by standard maize (tcb1 haplotype) plants. Tcb1-s contains male (Tcb1-m) and female (Tcb1-f) components. We generated genomic short reads from two tcb1-f knockout lines, labeled KO1 and KO2, in order to investigate the function and genomic regions associated with Tcb1.
