The melon fly, Zeugodacus cucurbitae (Coquillett; order Diptera: family Tephritidae), is a destructive agricultural pest known to infest more than one hundred varieties of fruit and vegetable crops. This specimen was collected from a colony maintained at the USDA-ARS Daniel K. Inouye US Pacific Basin Agricultural Research Center in Hilo, Hawaii, USA since the 1960s.
