This study is a part of a USDA-AFRI-funded multi-institutional project investigating the potential for food-borne transmission of C. difficile. We isolated a multi-drug resistant C. difficile from pork samples in Connecticut. The whole genome sequencing of this isolate can provide valuable information regarding its antibiotic resistance and virulence profiles, and similarities with clinical C. difficile isolates.
