Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogen that can cause mastitis in dairy cattle. We sequenced the genome of a Staphylococcus aureus strain isolated from a chronic case of mastitis in a dairy cow. The infection with this strain of Staphylococcus aureus was not able to be cleared from the animal with treatment of antibiotics.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers.
