a comprehensive genome-wide examination of the whole gut microbiota of rainbow trout fed different plant-based oil and protein sources under varying temperatures was conducted using state-of-the-art high-throughput sequencing techniques (shotgun and 16S rRNA sequences). This way, we were able to explore gut microbiota composition and metabolic potential from a taxonomic perspective. Moreover, metagenomic analyses provided valuable insights into the impact of dietary and temperature conditions on gut microbial gene diversity and potential
