Gene expression associated with circadian mating time

dataset
posted on 2024-06-11, 05:49 authored by Tufts University
We measure differences in gene expression in female heads prior to mating and at the peak mating time of two strains of corn borer moths (Ostrinia nubilalis) that differ in circadian mating time. One-day-old virgin females were sampled one hour before the end of photophase and at the median nightly mating time for each strain (1.3 hours and 4 hours into scotophase) to examine patterns of gene expression associated with changes in times of peak mating activity and identify genetic factors associated with and potentially contributing to divergence in circadian mating time.
