Draft genome sequence of a member of the Fusarium solani species complex (FSSC 6; ATCC MYA-4552) consistently associated with the midgut of larval Asian longhorned beetles (Anoplophora glabripennis; ALB). These beetles complete their entire development while feeding exclusively on highly lignified woody tissue deficient in essential nutrients. This fungal symbiont may possess the ability to facilitate the degradation of lignin and other carbohydrate components of secondary plant cell walls in the midgut, concentrate nitrogen and provision essential nutrients. This genome sequence begins to lay the foundation for functional studies to better characterize this fungus' role in ALB digestive physiology.
