This is the first report of two near-complete genomes of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) serotype O from Kenya. The viruses were isolated from bovine epithelium collected in 2014 and 2016 from local FMD outbreaks. These full genome sequences are essential for FMDV molecular epidemiology.
It is recommended to cite the accession numbers that are assigned to data submissions, e.g. the GenBank, WGS or SRA accession numbers. If individual BioProjects need to be referenced, state that "The data have been deposited with links to BioProject accession number PRJNA551797 in the NCBI BioProject database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/)."
